We’re kicking off our day with some family vibes as Clive Bell and Betamax drop some father and son goodness.

Known for his work with The Comet is Coming and Soccer96 and his spin-off projects such as Champagne Dub and Coma World revered drummer Betamax, he teams up with his father for an experimental album titled Betamax Vs Clive Bell.

A veteran of London’s avant-garde scene, Bell is a renowned woodwind artist who regularly performed with dub legend Jah Wobble among others.

Their forthcoming collaborative album will be released with the independent record label Byrd Out. It’s a cross-pollination of jazz, dub, psychedelia, experimental electronics and an assortment of woodwind instruments. Betamax describes it as “The complete 8-step ‘Father Son Dub’ connection program”.

We are delighted to reveal The Cylinder exclusively here, with its hypnosis inducing flute notes and waves of reeds floating atop, shuddering drums and pulses of synths sit deep beneath. It’s an exciting mix of sounds that they manage to weave together perfectly.
