Dave De Rose – Proof (TS Pemiere)

An ode to meditation.
The infinite search for truth.
Contemplating self-destruction.
Like in nature, the course of love.

What makes Dave De Rose one of the most exciting musicians around, is the fact that you never quite know what his next release will sound like.

From off-the-cuff improvised magic of his Agile Experiments project to the darker and hypnotic textures, splashed with moments of bright melancholy found on The Day Goes EP, he always keeps the listeners on their toes.

That’s precisely the case with his latest offering as he dips his creative feet into delicate alt-electro pop waters with ‘Proof’.

Featuring the honey-toned voice of Jaelee Small, the music is built out of mangled Agile Experiments drum outtakes, loaded with guitars, bass and synthesiser goodness. Initially conceived by De Rose as questions disguised as statements regarding our perception of reality – the limits of scientific method, Small blended the lyrics with emotive social dilemmas of friendship and self-worth, while creating new melodic lines.

The song is lifted from his 9th solo EP, ‘ACTIVATE’, which uncovers further layers of his deep production and songwriting skills. The 4-track release also features Nefeli Papaioannou on acoustic guitar and Jon Scott on drums.

Stream the premiere of ‘Proof’ below; it’s a beautiful composition that’s well worth your time and attention. Pre-order ‘ACTIVATE’ here.

Press notes:

On ‘ACTIVATE’, we find Dave De Rose lyrically pursuing subjects around the active healing and power of meditation, human reliance on material facts, contemplations on self-destruction and an abstract take on the natural course of love. All this playfully coloured by masterful sound craft, original rhythms, and sonic texture amalgamations.
