Saxophonist and composer Nubya Garcia has announced details of her highly anticipated debut album. 

‘Source’ is the musician’s first release with new home Concord Jazz, and will be released on the 21st of August.

The nine-song project is described as “a collection of sonic mantras to live by, Source sees Garcia mapping “cartographies around the coordinate points of her identity, her family histories, grief, Afro-diasporic connections and collectivism”. 

She’s also shared the title track from the album, which arrives reworked from the version that appeared a few years ago. Taking a pinch of steamy dub and splicing it together with reggae, jazz and myriad of sounds from her youth it’s a highly enticing track which gets us excited for the album.
