Tel Aviv DJ and producer Lily Haz has been making waves for a few years with her genre-blending musicality that takes influence from electronic, new wave, hip hop, house and beyond.
Following releases on Tom Tom Disco and Night Noise, the ultra-talented artist returns to her Tofistock imprint for a new EP called ‘Ranger Misled‘.
Originally conceived as a beat tape of lofi experimental beats, the four-track project slowly morphed into a contemplative stroll between trip-hop and modern slow dance music, wrapped with dubby disoriented vocals calling from the treetops (peep the Maia Zer artwork up top), Haz uses the space as the main role for a guided trip into her vision.
It’s worth investing in this for ‘Negira’ alone, which is a gorgeous exercise in trippy dubby sounds, downtempo grooves and rhythmic drum patterns. The remaining three tracks are just as intriguing. Sit back and let her hybrid explorations envelop you.
The ‘Ranger Mislead’ EP is out now on Tofistaock. Buy it here.
