Next up on Lanquidity Records is London jazz and electronic trio Still Moving.
Drawing inspiration from jazz, folk rhythm traditions, club-oriented electronics, and progressive experimentalism, Still Moving reveal ‘Collide/Construct’; scintillating free-form saxophone works in tandem with rumbling percussion and dramatic pulses of synths.
Over the seven minutes of its duration, you can’t help but get drawn into the magic of their freestyle jazz energy combined with electronic club vibes and the mature mastery of their instruments.
Still Moving is made up of Nat Phillipps (saxophone), Pike Ogilvy (drums), and Sam Bates (synthesisers & drum machines).
The label says that SM is “ is an invitation to a fluid journey through musical space, just as capable of provoking emotion and introspection as inspiring dance and movement. Working from the principle that no two shows be the same, they access a sound that is at once poetic yet constantly developing: a sound that is Still Moving.”
The self-titled four-track EP follows Lanquidity Records magnificent issue of the Sun Ra Arkestra (Live In Kalisz 1986) album from late last month.
