Having teased us with ‘Move’ late last year, London soul singer Lynda Dawn has shared the second track from her forthcoming debut record called ‘At First Light’.
The 7-track project will arrive on August 30th via Akashik Records and features production from frequent collaborator Al Dobson Jr and Jason Charles Nelson.
The fast-rising artist cites the crackling sounds of her parents’ records along with growing up in the Pentecostal church as her spiritual education in funk and gospel expression.
As with her previous track she once again brings a refreshing take on soul by marrying elements of rare groove, boogie, and funk into her new cut Fonk Street.
From Dawn’s silken vocals to the utterly infectious production it all sounds so effortless. This one will be stuck in your head for hours on end.
