Get to know Koma Saxo a highly potent new five-piece led by the visionary Berlin-based Swedish bassist and producer Petter Eldh.

Utterly brilliant and unequivocally unique, the first offering from the band comes in the shape of a 7″/digital single ‘Port Koma / Fanfarum For Komarum’ which is out on August 2nd via We Jazz Records.

The lead track is a dubby delight with a seriously hard-swinging bass, skittering beat and melodious sax lines. The flip sees the group channel the Art Ensemble of Chicago at their swinging best with a touch of “Nordic Noir” dropped right into the busy streets of Berlin’s Kreuzberg.

Koma Saxo is Petter Eldh on bass, Otis Sandsjö, Mikko Innanen and, Jonas Kullhammar on sax as well as Christian Lillinger on drums.

This quartet is a breath of fresh air to the jazz scene as they push the sound one step ahead of what groovy avantgarde jazz could sound like in 2019 and beyond.
