Based out of Venezuela’s capital of Caracas, multi-instrumentalist and composer Isaac Sasson is set to release a new EP, titled Cantos Campesinos on Olindo Records.
The three-track project is the third in the labels initial Venezuelan trilogy of 45s and features two original compositions by Sasson and a killer remix by site favourite Hector Plimmer.
Opening the record is “Paseo en un sueño”, a short but enticing composition featuring a beautiful flute melody played by Tomasito Garcia. Next up is ‘Canción para mi familia, Venezuela’ a song that will put you in a trance with its mantra-like chants. Dedicated to Venezuela and Isaac’s family and friends; its spiralling guitar riff and array of percussion instruments quickly descends towards a chaotic state of bliss.
Although the music on the EP has been previously self-released by Sasson on his fantastic 2017 album ‘Memorias del canto campesino‘, this is the first time on vinyl.
We’ve had the tracks on repeat ever since our ears met, and we’re sure you will too.
