A few months ago we came across the talented Brighton-based band Ebi Soda and their unique brand of jazz that really grabbed our attention.
Late last week the budding jazz-scene invaders made a welcome return with new track ‘Resent’.
This new recording brilliantly fuses together explosive yet intricate drum breaks and harmonies that float over an oscillating synth with percussive rhythms influenced heavily by London’s Grime and Drill scenes. Oh, and the driving sax lines that weave in and amongst deep trombone parts before a hectic free jazz solo are heavenly.
This brilliant new single is the next chapter for the group, following their impressive self-titled EP. ‘Resent’ is the first glimpse from the band’s upcoming EP titled ‘Bedroom Tapes’.
Ebi Soda continues to make their mark as one of today’s most forward-thinking new jazz bands.
