Cara Stacey & Camilo Ángeles collaborate on forthcoming album for Kit Records

Ceder by Cara Stacey & Camilo Ángeles

Following her wonderful debut album, Things That Grow, Cara Stacey returns to Kit Records, teaming up with the incredible Peruvian flautist Camilo Ángeles.

On her previous album, Stacy explored the sonic possibilities of southern African musical bows within improvisatory contexts. Taking things in a new direction the pair delight in free-flowing improvisation that you’re not entirely sure where they will take you but you know the journey will be very enjoyable.

Recorded live over a day in Cape Town, ‘Ceder’ presents a narrative in turns soothing, shrill, euphoric, dissonant, serene – unfurling like a labyrinthine soundtrack documenting a foreign planet. This landscape is often sparse, desolate, yet teeming with life.

Listen to the wonderful first taste ‘Silbato Azteca’ below.

Ceder’ is out on May 1st, and we are very much looking forward to hearing more from it.

Ceder is out on May 1st via Kit Records – pre-order from Bandcamp.
