Introducing Chris Giles who recently unveiled his first single under the name “Strangerman“.
With many layers, it’s purpose is to mimic one’s life and the many variations of the self and the search to find the last stage. “The Search for Soulman” isn’t supposed to follow a certain pattern or show much repetition. With mellow sounds and upbeat drums, the song contrasts itself nicely leaving the listener at ease.
It reminds me a little of FlyLo circa Cosmogramma where fractured hip-hop sounds, layered textures and abstract nu jazz grooves blend seamlessly.
This three-and-a-bit-minute track is a laid-back blend of shifting ambient rhythms with an intimate late-night feel, made for headphones and best listened to whilst horizontal.
