Chicago experimental producer Hieroglyphic Being, aka Jamal Moss, will release a new album via Soul Jazz Records later this month. This is his third album for the label, following on from The Acid Documents (2015), and African With Mainframes (w/ Noleian Reusse) K.M.T. (2016).
According to the label, the album titled ‘The Red Notes’ is a “homage to the Blue Note Jazz sound of Thelonious Monk, John Coltrane, Herbie Hancock fused together with the classic Chicago House and Acid sensibilities of Larry Heard, Armando, Adonis et al.”
The new 9-track album follows his stunning A.R.E Project EP with Shabaka Hutchings and Sarathy Korwar one of our favourite releases from last year.
