Listen to ‘Slangin’ the second single from Melbourne collective 30/70’s upcoming new album Elevate

“Slangin” is the second single from Melbourne collective 30/70‘s upcoming new album Elevate set for release on Bradley Zero’s Rhythm Section label.

This follows the dazzling first track “Misrepresented,” and the new cut is as equally captivating with its soulful blend of bouncy boom-bap, neo-soul grooves and jazz vibes all done with a beguiling pop sensibility.

30/70 is less of a “band” than a community, with five key members: Allysha Joy (lead vocals), Ziggy Zeitgeist (drums), Henry Hicks (bass), Thhomas Mansfield (guitar/synths), and Jarrod Chase (Fender Rhodes).

“We all write individually and bring tunes in and jam on them, so there are a lot of different aesthetics coming together. We’re all interested in slightly different genres of music, but the overarching theme is hip-hop and jazz… Fusion hip-hop is definitely the vibe. “ 30/70

The new track offers a further glimpse into the vibrant hybrid sound of 30/70.

If the rest of the album is as good as the two tracks, we’ve heard so far; we’re in for a treat!

Elevate releases on October 27th via Rhythm Section – Buy from Bandcamp or SOTU.
