South London artist Hector Plimmer is a breath of fresh air, creating delicately soulful music, that is full of intricate details. Today we’re showcasing his new offering “Bulb”, a highlight from his recent debut album, “Sunshine.”
The sound of a tapped light bulb provides the core of this piece, driven forward by marching kick drums and rim shots interrupted only by occasional synth interjections. The single is a reminder of his immense talent.
Included in the single are two remixes from Deft and Saratty Kowar. The former makes his unmistakable presence known on a distorted, noise embracing rework. While the lattter takes on ethereal album closer Shiver, delivering chattering hi-hats and even more bass, upon layers of stuttering melodica.
The EP ends with a brand new, previously unreleased track from Plimmer. Sleep Easy is a perfect slice of house-tempo deepness, full of the ringing snares and tuned percussion Hector is quickly becoming renowned for.
Once again Hector Plimmer is never less than superb!
