Portico Quartet preps new album

Portico Quartet

Manchester-based imprint Gondwana Records has announced the release of Portico Quartet’s debut album for the label, Art in the Age of Automation, out on August 25th.

After a brief spell as a three-piece, the band return rebooted as a quartet once again transmitting a technicolour journey through their unique world of jazz, electronica, minimalism and ambient sounds.

Lead cut “Endless” is a delicious slice of strikingly cinematic jazz that sees both a return to their mesmeric signature sound and fresh new sonic departures in their new music.

Stirring and quietly grand, “Endless” unfolds gently into a flurry of blissful strings, hangs, electronics, saxophones and percussion. Listen below.
