David Byrne’s Luaka Bop label are set to release a compilation of private press recordings by Alice Coltrane. The 12-song project is called World Spirituality Classics 1: The Ecstatic Music of Alice Coltrane Turiyasangitananda, and is out on May 5th. The collection focuses on music made by Coltrane between 1982 and 1995 while living at the Sai Anantam Ashram centre in Los Angeles. Listen to the deeply spiritual “Om Rama” below.
