There’s no denying that 22a is one of the most exciting labels around, but if you still need some convincing, then check out their latest family member Neue Grafik. Since starting in 2013, the label has continued to showcase emerging, underground UK talent. Having released music from the likes of Mo Kolours, Al Dobson Jr, Jeen Bassa and founder Tenderlonious – the label is now looking further afield. Paris-based producer Grafik is another welcome addition to the label and his 6-track “Soul Conspiracy” EP sees him “routing his influences in a heavy 70s feel”. Grafik mixes live instrumentation and electronics on this EP, featuring a heavy dose of Fender Rhodes and lead synth, as well as a scattering of live drums and guest vocal from Wayne Snow. The first excerpt “Modern Man” is as fresh and the original as anything the label has previously released. The EP drops on April 28th until then this track will keep us occupied.
