Watch the animated video for Maria Chiara Argirò’s ‘Dream R’.

Taken from her debut album, ‘The Fall Dance,” released last year, pianist and composer Maria Chiara Argirò has shared the stunning music video to standout track “Dream R”.

Working with Portuguese illustrator/animator My Elastic Brain, the Italian-born, London-based artist imaginatively “unravel the cryptic imagery behind her fervent keystrokes; the collaboration paints a bold tapestry of raw emotion.”

The powerful eight minute song tackles the current political situation in her home city of Rome, and its bureaucratic incompetency, Maria’s discontent is perfectly illustrated by the chilling scat vocal of Leïla Martial.

Speaking to Creators magazine My Elastic Brain offers a little insight into the video saying “there’s collapsing dreams, there’s destruction, there’s confusion, there’s anger, there’s violence, there’s fragility. But at the end, you stand up and hope that things will eventually get better”. Peep the visual above and head over to our YouTube channel to check out more videos.
