Leamington Spa based artist Bastien Keb released his debut album back in 2015, and he returns in March with a new LP called 22.02.85. Psychedelic and soulful, his endearing mix of downbeat anti-ballads, off-centre instrumentals and warped funk is sure to gain him, even more, admirers this time around. Recorded by Keb in Leamington and Hackney he explains “I don’t really mic shit up proper, so I gotta go lo-fi. Warm, fuzzy, dirty and honest; an antidote to over-production and over-analysis.” The sixteen-track album develpos on the sounds heard on Dinking In The Shadows Of Zizou a few years back. The lead track – full of brisk horns and Keb’s breezy vocals – is available to stream in full below.
