Darkhouse Family – Disco Duck

Darkhouse Family - Disco Duck

With recent stellar releases by the likes of  Sarah Williams White and Children Of Zeus, we’re always keen to check out what’s new with First World Records. The South London labels latest offering comes from production duo Darkhouse Family, who consist of Don Leisure and Metabeats.

Having released music through Fat City and Earnest Endeavours, the pair known for merging the territories between hip-hop, jungle, and DnB, take a detour and draw on influences including Alice Coltrane, Tangerine Dream and Sun-Ra for their First World debut.

As Don Leisure explains: “After the last EP we felt like we needed to change our style to reflect what we were listening to more honestly. We still love Brockwild and those tunes but wanted to do more jazz influenced stuff as that was what were looking for in the record crates and what we were bumping in the studio.”

Darkhouse Family’s Solid Gold EP is out on July 1st (pre-order)
