The Leftovers

The Leftovers 16.01.16

Things are moving super fast! A little too fast! We can’t keep up with all the good stuff that drops every day on the interwebs. While we try to post every new track, album, mixtape, video, and MP3 download that we love on the site, it’s impossible to post everything, which means some quality newness gets missed. So, we serve up The Leftovers.

Watch GAIKA in the video for his collaboration with Bipolar Sunshine, BOHDY KNOWS AT 90. GAIKA says that the song is “a prayer for fallen angels,” and that the video reflects “the polar opposites that often complement each other” in society.

Howling Owl - Dance For Common Sense

I received an email a few weeks back from Lav one half of Avant-Pop duo Howling Owl. I listened, dug it, and now i’m sharing it with you good people. The duo consisting of Evija Vebere and Lav Kovac make slightly off-beat, avant-garde pop music and it’s certainly a winner in our book. Their debut  EP titled “Dance for Common Sense” was recorded 100% live with absolutely NO overdubs or edits of any kind. It’s definitely worth your time to check out this duo who sound like their having lots of fun doing their own thing. (buy)

Watch the video for “Katana”  the second track from “Swimming With Sharks” – a joint project from UK artist Banditsu and Canada-based producer Echo. Banditsu describes “Katana” is “a self-proclaimed affirmation that he is coming for bigger and better things within the music world.”

TailrMdeLvn

We featured Tailr.Mde.Lvn a while back and as so often happens with so much new music dropping on a daily basis some names drop from the radar. Lucky for us we received a message on SoundCloud from the duo about their new track and although “Jodeci” didn’t hit me at first on repeated listens it’s hooked me in. If minimalist retro R&B is your thing, you’re gonna love this sparse yet effective jam with its undeniable, smooth groove! Watch out for their The Popular Loner EP, coming on March 3rd and go here for more wavy sounds.

Kiran Kai - Trips

I caught wind of Kiran Kai via Tanya Wells who appears on the opening track of his  7 track mixtape entitled Trips. A real killer from start to finish, this masterpiece of chilled soulful electronics blended with Asian samples is a highly intriguing mix. All tracks are absolutely fantastic! We cannot recommend this one enough!
