Niko Schabel (Radio Citizen, Express Brass Band & part-time member of the world jazz pioneers Embryo) and Tom Wieland (7 Samurai, Panoptikum Arkestra, Trans Europa Express Radio) have launched a new project under the name of Sound Voyage. Much like German Jazz producer, philosopher, music guru Joachim-Ernst Berendt and his acclaimed “Jazz Meets The World” series the pair travel the world in search of new rhythm and sound inspirations. The first stop for this new musical venture is SE Asia. Thailand, Wieland had this to say about the project:

Searching for new sounds around the world (and working together with musicians from all arround the globe) almost became a mantra for the more open minded german musicians in the following decades from Kraut Rock & to New Wave and this is what my ( & Niko Schabels of Radio Citizen) new project SOUND VOYAGE is all about.
