Bristol experimental post-jazz quartet Get the Blessing will return with their highly anticipated fifth album “Astronautilus” tomorrow.
Astronautilus is dedicated to the memory of Ornette Coleman, whose music was the original inspiration to form the band in 2000.
Ahead of the album the band have shared the album opener, “Phaenomena,” an improvised track, driven by Clive Deamer’s afro-beat-esque drumming, and a particular favourite of the band as it’s so unlike anything they’ve done before.
The track has been given the visual treatment courtesy of Hankin Films and features Dr Edson Burton having a one on one encounter with a giant green frog. Like their music, it’s unpredictable, creative and original.
