Now, here’s something I’ve been waiting on for a while, new music from Matthew Halsall & The Gondwana Orchestra. “As I Walk” is the first taste from his forthcoming Into Forever album that is out next month on October 2nd via Gondwana Records.
The new single follows in a similar direction as his earlier release but attaches the vocals of Josephine Oniyama across the lush instrumentation of sprawling viola and violin coupled with flourishing percussion from The Gondwana Orchestra.
His blend of styles across Jazz, classical, ambient and folk is so wonderfully arranged; it’s impossible not to be enticed.
Having slept on his 2014 album When the World Was One for most of last year, I’m wide awake and looking forward to October 2nd.
