With so much good music coming through thick and fast, it’s easy for new music to drop online and go unnoticed. To help prevent this, we’ve picked five albums you need to hear. Stream music from Electric Wire Hustle, SUTRA, Chaos In The CBD, White Magic and SiR . If you like what you hear support the artist.
Electric Wire Hustle – Aeons EP
Electric Wire Hustle’s first collection of new material since ‘Love Can Prevail’, the ‘Aeons EP’ is a collection of short stories. Featuring guest appearances from Kimbra and Deva Mahal, the EP shows the band’s continued progression, putting their own spin on electronic music and psychedelic-soul. You’ll have this on repeat for a long, long time, we sure will!

SUTRA – The Art Of Being
I’ve been hooked on SUTRA ever since hearing her dulcet tones float over the Tenderly track we wrote about last week.Take one listen to “Where You Are”, and you’ll be able to tell this woman is a serious talent that’s worth keeping an eye on. On this, she gives us 11 solid soulful tracks that have a jazzy and ambient vibe. Her velvety vocals along with production from DOTSE, EDWVN and BOSTON will leave you wanting more.

Chaos In The CBD – Midnight In Peckham
Taking it’s title from the locale the boys have come to know as home, the record channels a delicate late night energy – equally indebted to the hypnotic incantations of Ron Trent as it is to the hazy suburban atmospheres of Burial. These 4 classic cuts pay homage to deep house in it’s truest sense – at once sublime, melancholy and meditative. Chaos in the CBD have clearly taken their cue from the mid-west masters of the genre but have not been afraid to let their own influences and environ creep in, and in doing so have created something that is unmistakably London and infact, timeless.

White Magic – White Magic – I’m Hiding My Nightingale
Singer, songwriter, pianist, composer Mira Billotte released the mystic EP “Im Hiding My Nightingale” and listeners will be wonderfully amazed at the wide range of sound, from loud psychedelia to meditative trance, the focus is on the voice with folk, soul, and mystic music at its roots. Really strong 4-track EP with great production, one of my favourite folk records of the year so far.

SiR – Seven Sundays
Surprising and diverse LP from Inglewood R&B singer/songwriter, SiR. There’s something refreshing and unique about his take on contemporary R&B. A must listen.
