Introducing Liam Fergus and Emily Ady, from South East London, who as LE SON create an enthralling explosion of experimental sounds spearheaded by Emily’s super soulful vocals.
The newly formed duo created by the two recent Goldsmiths alumni, fuse brooding lyrics and velvety vocals, with carefully crafted electronic soundscapes.
It’s easy to fall into a musical trance with the otherworldly sounds on display, and I love that their sound is so difficult to pin down to any one genre.
Showing their versatility “When It Rains, It Pours” is a spacious jazz-tinged track with light piano chords and seductive attitude. While “Without Sound” is a minimal, sombre number with crisp synths and introspective lyrics. “Oscillator”, their most experimental and best song thus far is an intricately crafted, forward-thinking compositions, that will have you hitting the replay button.
Give all three tracks a spin below, you won’t be disappointed.
