The Leftovers

The Leftovers 25.07.15

Things are moving super fast! A little too fast! We can’t keep up with all the good stuff that drops every day on the interwebs. While we try post every new track, album, mixtape, video, and MP3 download that we love on the site, it’s impossible to post everything, which means some quality newness gets missed. So, we serve up The Leftovers.

French-Cuban twin sisters Ibeyi do “Ibeyi (Outro)” for Okay Acoustic. Ibeyi’s self-titled LP is now out on XL Recordings and on sale via iTunes.

Kadhja Bonet

Kadhja Bonet, has quickly become one of my favourite new singer’s, and with this lovely mash-up called “Come Wonder”, she’s sure to win many more hearts. According to Bonet “half of it is from a Twilight Zone episode the other half is a Brazilian classic”. Vibes!

The 2nd of 3 basement session tracks from Bilal and Adrian Younge, watch the singer perform ‘I Really Don’t Care’, taken from his forthcoming album ‘In Another Life’. Check out the first session here.

Go! Next

UK-based five-piece Go! Next dropped on my radar via email a month ago, I listened and dug it. Described as “Jazz fusion, nu jazz, prog. jazz… Go! Next have never heard of jazz but are determined to change what it’s about.” Listen to Lukewarm Milk Glass above and be on the lookout for their forthcoming debut EP titled “What Sara Said”.

London rapper and producer Blue Daisy is gearing up to release his new album on the legendary R&S Records. Darker Than Blue finds Kwesi Darko blending rap, grime, blues and rock on the title track. Darker Than Blue is out on September 25th on R&S. If you didn’t catch the Blue Daisy produced track by Connie Constance earlier this week then head here.
