Prior to its release on July 24th via Modeselektor’s Monkeytown Records, Omar Souleyman‘s new album, Bahdeni Nami is available to stream in full through NPR. With production from Four Tet, Gilles Peterson, and Modeselektor, the album follows his 2013 full-length ‘Wenu Wenu’. Modeselektor spoke to Pitchfork about his newest signing: “They say that we, Modeselektor, play at an awful lot of parties. Omar Souleyman has sung at a very, very large number of parties – wedding parties. We reckon that fits! The coolest man on the planet threw the wedding bouquet our way and we had no choice but to catch it. Welcome to the Monkeytown family!”
The album sees Omar Souleyman return with some high energy Arabic dance music and powerful vocals to boot.
