Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to record our usual “Monday Mix” as we were still in the beautiful seaside town of Sete recovering after another fabulous 7-day party at the Worldwide Festival. So, all be it a little late we give you a mix from Solid Steel, whose pioneering radio show started way back in 1988 on London’s pirate KISS FM radio station. They recently welcomed back Jimpster who was a guest back in 2000, here’s what the he had to say:

‘It was 15 years ago that I made my last mix for the brilliant Solid Steel show.  Time flies but surprisingly (or maybe unsurprisingly) my taste in music hasn’t actually changed a great deal in all those years.  I’m still constantly discovering and inspired by old jazz, library music, modern soul and, of course, deep house and I always like to try and include a cross-section of favourites, both old and new, in my mixes.  Hopefully there will be a few things people don’t know (well, there definitely will be cos I’ve included one track from the forthcoming Toby Tobias LP which nobody has heard yet) but also some familiar classics such as Kenny Larkin’s Tedra and Doug Carn’s Revelation. And the Ninja boys didn’t stipulate that I had to include at least one Ninja release either!  I absolutely love all Seven Davis Jr’s productions and this new remix is fire so had to go on there!  Hope you enjoy and hopefully it won’t be 15 more years until my next Solid Steel guest mix!
