Introducing new LA-based duo GENESEA. While working on recent Red Bull Music Academy alumni Kadhja Bonet‘s solo project, Kadhja and The Decoders member Itai Shapira – began working on seeds that would eventually become a duo project with experimental R&B leanings. The duo plans to release several singles over the summer. The first taste, “Her: Part 1”, was co-produced by New Orleans-based emcee/producer Nesby Phips. Kadhja’s beautiful vocal and string arrangements (played as a one-woman orchestra) are an intriguing compliment to Itai and Nesby’s drums, synth layers and textures.
