Worldwide Festival 2015

Worldwide-Festival

With more than 25 years in the game, you might be forgiven for thinking that Gilles Peterson might want to cut back on his workload. This, of course, would be a ridiculous assumption, not only has Peterson maintained his energy, his enthusiasm for new music (catch his BBC6 show) seems to have gotten even stronger.

Why am I telling you this? Well, next week Twistedsoul will be rocking up in the lovely French seaside town of Sete for Mr Peterson’s week-long Worldwide Festival where the man himself will be in full effect all day and all night.

As the name suggests, Worldwide is a truly international affair with artists from all over the world performing over the course of the seven days. The line-up as always is stellar featuring musicians and DJ’s like Roy Ayers, Ed Motta, Soil & Pimp Sessions, James Blake, Little Simz, Daymé Arocena, Kate Tempest, DJ Harvey, Benji B, Oneman, Osunlade, Laurent Garnier, Louie Vega, Simbad, Fabio, Floating Points, Throwing Shade, Seven Davis JR, Thris Tain, Lefto and many more. You can check out the full programme here.

Throw in fabulous food, great wine, a relatively small, fun-loving crowd and some outstanding venues with the St. Christ lighthouse coming second to the stunning Théâtre de la Mer, a wonderful town full of inviting locals, and it is one of the world’s truly great festivals.

The week long Platinum passes for the festival have sold out, but tickets are still available for St Christ pass (129 euros) which give you access to all shows from Thursday 9th to Sunday July 12th plus all the WF stages during the day.

Individual tickets for the Theatre de la Mer (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday) and the St Christ (Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday) are available via the Sete tourist office.

The new Beach Stage has tickets from Thursday to Sunday (20 euros / afternoon).

We’ve put together a little playlist of some of the essential artists that will be rocking the stages in the glorious sunshine.

Worldwide baby!
