There is defiantly something interesting happening in Chicago right now. Looking from the outside, there seems to be a group of young artists doing interesting things in the realms of experimental/leftfield electronic production-backed pop and R&B. I’m talking about artist like The-Drum, Dre Green, Supreme Cuts, THEMpeople, JODY and a host of others that are pushing the envelope. One such artist is Nigerian-American, The GTW, who is also a member of JODY, he’s releasing his debut album Chigeria this summer. The first single from the album “Calling Cards” dropped a few months ago and he reemerges with a self-reflective visual for the delicately mournful song.
