Listen To King avriel’s new song “180″

I remember hearing King avriel for the first time about 9 months ago when i listened to “Paranormal Paradigm”. It was quiet obvious that the talented singer/songwriter wouldn’t stop there. Well, since that time she has gained recognition with the release of a handful of impressive singles and things have gone pretty wild! Now, having risen into prominence she’s preparing for the release of her debut album, thesis, due out later this summer. On this new cut, “180″, avriel once again displays her in your face lyricism. “It’s my birthday. I just ran out of pills”, she sings, over the glitchy, minimalist trap production. In a detailed press release, the singer wrote about the track:

“180 is my attempt to relive a period in my life when I felt I was not my own person, just a giant cliché — an attention-starved, rebellious girl trying to navigate and find my place in this male-dominated industry. I felt the best way for you to understand where I’m coming from and how it’s shaped me was to chronicle some of my teenage “rites of passage.” While those pivotal moments seemingly gave me more freedom and maybe even some moderate success, they only sunk me deeper into a psychological enslavement, cemented in the materialism, vanity, and predatory nature of LA. I think that story, juxtaposed with the trap elements in the beat — a cliché in and of itself — sets up a nice contrast that hopefully makes you think about the culture we’ve all grown up in.”

The album is set to feature a number of her past singles, including “Caricatures” and “Judgment Day// Valley Idols”. Listen in below.
