After what has seemed like a life time away- Jazmine Sullivan is back!

Having given up on music amidst industry/label wrangling, Jazmine Sullivan makes a welcome return with her first single in nearly 4 years. Dumb is the first single to be taken from her new album, Reality Show, due out later this year. We’ve been fans of Sullivan from day one, but her previous albums were not without fault, seeming due to her being prevented by her label from putting out the music she truly craved. This is of course a familiar story with major labels wanting to appeal to mainstream audiences and thus pushing artist towards disposable chart fodder. When you have an artist whose musical integrity is playing second fiddle to label chart-chasing and marketing- you end up like Jazmine did being ‘caught between two stools’, and delivering two very muddled albums. It’s great to have this talented singer back and judging from this track, she’s in full control of her output.
