Another wonderfully skewed song has surfaced from Chicago R&B weirdos JODY. Following up on the spacey, bass heavy production of “M.I.A , the trio along with in-house producers The-Drum create their own unique version of a Keith Sweat/Jodeci, ’90s R&B jam. While earlier songs, like The Long Goodbye brought on a feeling of nostalgia, with sweet vocal harmonies and silken grooves, newer tracks like “Oasis” and “M.I.A” seem to merge the beauty of R&B with more obscure, harsher sounds. “Oasis” will be featured on JODY’s forthcoming Lo Motion Singles Compilation Volume 1, which is out in a few weeks.
