As we previously mentioned, Maraire and Palaceer Lazaro, otherwise known as experimental hip hop outfit Shabazz Places, are set to release a new album under the guise of their Chimurenga Renaissance project.The duo have hooked up with Hussein Kalonji for the album,entitled” riZe vadZimu rise”, which is set to dropped be on March 25th via Brick Lane Records.Check out their new track “Lean” with its mbira sounds,it’s world music at the core but one that allows spacey synths as it’s soundbed on which the trio speak of the “black American dream”, it sounds like nothing else right now ,true originators of originality.
