Vince Staples returns with the lead track off his highly anticipated sophomore project. On”Nate,” the rapper delivers a track that’s both sinister and touching in equal parts. Telling the story of his childhood relationship with his father, a drug dealer and addict who he hero worshipped despite not being the perfect role model. Having said that, this is far from a gloomy record, the production by Scoop DeVille is upbeat and singer James Fauntleroy lends a touch of soul on the bridge, taking the song into almost Channel Orange territory. Be on the lookout for Shyne Coldchain Vol. 2 when it drops.
Enjoy!
